TWU’s Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree to be offered online
DENTON — The Texas Woman’s University Office of Distance Education and the TWU College of Nursing have announced that the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree will now be offered online.
(PressZoom) - DENTON — The Texas Woman’s University Office of Distance Education and the TWU College of Nursing have announced that the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree will now be offered online.
This existing TWU degree will now be offered online through a hybrid delivery model of online and face-to-face classes. The 46-hour online DNP program will replace the on-campus program starting this summer.
The new online hybrid delivery format of the DNP will permit TWU to help alleviate the shortage of nursing faculty in Texas by increasing the numbers of clinically expert nursing faculty with doctoral preparation in the state. The program also will provide access to advanced practice registered nurses who practice in rural areas of Texas, facilitate DNP education for nurse practitioner graduates of Texas colleges that do not offer doctoral programs and create opportunities for TWU nursing faculty to form research collaborations with health care providers and advanced practice registered nurses throughout Texas.
