(PressZoom) - Washington, DC- Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke, released the following statement urging New York residents to prepare for Hurricane Earl moving up the Eastern Shore:
“In preparation for Hurricane Earl, the American Red Cross urges all residents of the Eastern seaboard to take necessary safeguards. Even though Earl is unlikely to have a direct impact on New York City, everyone in the region is advised to pay close attention to all warnings and gather essential items.”
“According to the American Red Cross, residents should check disaster supplies and close all doors and windows. Additionally, small appliances should be unplugged, and refrigerators should be turned to the coldest setting in the event that power is lost.”
“Residents are also advised to exercise caution at beaches due to the threat of strong riptides. For more information on hurricane preparedness, please visit redcross.org.”
