(PressZoom) - Updated NCAA Basketball Tournament 2010 scores posted show several shocking losses by teams seeded high in the March Madness event. The lower seeds such as Murray State and Ohio winning scores propelled these underdogs to the second round of the NCAA 2010 Men's Basketball tournament.
Murray State over Vanderbilt on a last second shot by Danero Thomas at the buzzer. Vanderbilt lost 66-65 to end their run at the national championship in 2010.
Siena College faced a tough task when they were matched up against number four seed Purdue in an afternoon game from Spokane. Purdue went into the halftime break down by three points 32-29 but rallied in the second half on the strong play of JaJuan Johnson and E'Twaun Moore. Johnson put in 23 points with 15 rebounds and Moore scored 12 in the win for Purdue.
Second seed West Virginia came off an impressive win on Friday over lower seeded Morgan State when the game ended 77-50. Despite a horrible opening half where the West Virginia team missed their first eleven shots from the floor, they ended the half up 38-27. In the second half, the Mountaineers opened up the shots and beat up on Morgan State. The second half had WVU outscoring their opponent 39-23 to pave the way to victory.
Tennessee beat the San Diego State Aztecs 62-59 to advance to the second round of the NCAA tournament. The Tennessee Volunteers were led by two of their star players Melvin Goins and J.P. Prince who both had fifteen points each. San Diego State was seeded number eleven coming into the game and Tennessee was seeded number 6.
Ohio shocked the March Madness crowd by beating favorite Georgetown in Providence Thursday night. Ohio gunned by the Hoyas by the score of 93-87. Georgetown was predicted by many experts to use its number three seeding to make it to the later rounds and some even boldly predicted they would reach the Final Four.
But Ohio had other plans and despite being entered as a number fourteen seed, they handled the Hoyas and went on to victory and a shot at the national championship.
