St. John's Crushes UConn 73-51 in Big East 2010 Tournament Bracket Game
The St. John's University Men's basketball team crushed the University of Connecticut Huskies 73-51 in the Big East Tournament 2010 opening day game. St. John's ran the score up on UConn and had amassed a large 35-22 lead at the half.
(PressZoom) - The St. John's University Men's basketball team crushed the University of Connecticut Huskies 73-51 in the Big East Tournament 2010 opening day game. St. John's ran the score up on UConn and had amassed a large 35-22 lead at the half.
Red Storm's team was led by forward Sean Evans who scored 19 points with 10 rebounds to put St. John's in the win column.in the winner's circle.
The UConn loss is their fourth in a row for the Huskies team. Kemba Walker scored 12 points for Connecticut in the loss. Top scorer Jerome Dyson only had four points and nine turnovers in the loss by Connecticut.
Justin Brownlee and Paris Horne also helped the Red Storm to victory with each player scoring thirteen points each.
Turnovers and the first half lead were keys to the downfall as UConn who has not made it past the first round of the Big East Tournament in over five years. Twenty turnovers committed by the Huskies helped St. John's to the decisive win.
St. John's will be matched up against Marquette in tomorrow's game. Marquette is the #5 seed of the Big East Tournament.
