(PressZoom) - The state of Iowa has started the new appliance rebates program structured so that state residents can take advantage of money back on selected energy efficient appliances purchased within the specified time period. The Iowa rebate program awards rebates from the government program designed to reduce energy consumption by older appliances in the home such as air conditioners, dishwashers and refrigerators.
Increased demands on the National Grid has been the basis for this program which has money allocated to all 50 states by the government.
Homeowners need to check with their local state government to find out the amount of rebates available and for what models and types of units are covered as some states have rebates for appliances inside the home while others only have for items such as air conditioners or heat units.
Each rebate program is setup on a model appliance approval basis with first come first serve until depletion of funds.
