(PressZoom) - Automaker General Motors (GM) is recalling over one million compact vehicles as a result of problems revolving around their power steering systems. The GM recall for power sterring systems has been diagnosed in vehicles built between the years of 2005 to 2010 for models which include the popular Chevrolet Cobalts and Pontiac G5.
The power steering system issues were as a result of consumer complaints but no injuries have been reported according to media reports. The failure of the system would cause driving to be difficult for the driver and could cause injury due to the difficulty.
Specific models included in the recall are: 2005-10 Chevy Cobalts and 2007-10 Pontiac G5 versions built for that USA. Outside of the USA, 2005-6 Pontiac Pursuits are recalled for Canada and 2005-6 Pontiac G4 types in Mexico.
GM employees have confirmed the problem but no resolution or repair fix has been made available. GM is continuing to work on the fix for the problem.
